Best paired with other bleeding items and abilities such as Throwing Knife or Open Wounds, which can help stack bleed effects more quickly for more bleed explosions.
Works well with the weapon Sadist's Stiletto, enabling the player to attack once with Blood Sword to inflict bleeding for the long duration of 12s, allowing Sadist's Stiletto to crit.
It pairs well with the "+60% damage to a bleeding target" affix on another weapon due to its long effect duration.

Affixes such as "+80% damage on poisoned targets" apply to the weapon's attacks as well as the inflicted bleed status.
This weapon deals less damage than the Rusty Sword, and has an unusual two-swing combo, but is effective at stacking bleed on enemies. This weapon thus benefits from skills that carry the bleed damage affix.
It pairs well with the "+60% damage to a bleeding target" affix on another weapon.
